Join us as we petition the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation for the Outer Harbor Park.

To: Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation.

Create a park with significant waterfront access on Buffalo’s Outer Harbor based upon the ideas of 21st Century on the Outer Harbor’s conceptual rendering.

Buffalo’s Outer Harbor holds tremendous potential! It should be unleashed through the creation of a significant waterfront park, reconnecting the residents of Buffalo and Western New York to Lake Erie. The park will feature important elements for smart growth and sustainability and allow visitors to experience the natural beauty of Lake Erie through boating, kayaking, sailing, fishing, and sunset views and strolls. It will also dedicate space for an outdoor amphitheater, restaurants, and a promenade, which will serve as a catalyst for additional economic revitalization and tourism. A park on Buffalo’s Outer Harbor will also serve as the southern anchor of the Niagara River Greenway, a system of parks and conservation areas linking over fifty miles of bikeways, pathways, and waterways along the Niagara River between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a distinctive, innovative, and ecological sound park that will be accessible for everyone. We must not let this opportunity go to waste or be squandered.

I support the ideas of the conceptual rendering of a modern, approximately 100 acre park on Buffalo’s Outer Harbor created by 21st Century on the Outer Harbor, in collaboration with Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper.

I encourage you to do all that you can to make this park a reality.
