Download a pdf of the conceptual renderings.
These renderings by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc. (MVVA), an internationally renowned Landscape Architecture and Urban Design firm, present a concept based on “commons” – cultural and natural resources, including natural resources such as land and water, which are used for all members of society. These resources are held in common by all. Like Olmsted’s design theories, these conceptual renderings reflect the need that landscape art and architecture meet human needs. Ideally, the Outer Harbor Park will serve to implement economic development, improve the quality of life for Western New Yorkers, and provide a common space to enjoy both the land and water.
